Frequently Asked Questions

General

Do I need a chiller to use the cold plunge?

No, the tub can be used without a chiller by filling it with cold tap or ice water. Adding a chiller allows you to maintain consistent cold temperatures, which is ideal for daily routines or long-term use.

How often should I use my cold plunge?

Plunging 2-4 times a week for a few minutes per session can be enough to experience benefits. We recommend starting slowly and to build your tolerance over time. Check out our blog for science-based, detailed protocols.

How long should I stay in my cold plunge?

A general guideline is to start with 1-2 minutes per session and then slowly increase as tolerance improves. It’s important to listen to your body—if you feel excessively uncomfortable, it’s time to get out. Check out our blog for science-based, detailed protocols.

What is the ideal temperature for cold plunging?

This varies depending on personal preference, but most users find temperatures between 37°F and 55°F to be effective. Start warmer and adjust to find the right temperature for you.

Can cold plunges be used both indoors and outdoors?

Yes, most cold plunges can be used both indoors and outdoors. For outdoor setups, it's best to keep the unit covered, out of direct sunlight, and avoid exposure to freezing temperatures. Indoor installations should be on waterproof flooring with proper drainage and ventilation. Provide at least 36” of ventilation space when using a chiller and avoid enclosed areas

How long will it take for my plunge to ship?

Lead times vary by brand, but generally all orders are processed within 5 business days. You can expect to receive your plunge in 1 to 7 business days when purchasing just the tub and within 2 to 14 business days when paired with a chiller.

What type of delivery service is provided?

Shipment method is dependent upon the addition of a chiller (freight/LTL shipping) or a standalone tub purchase (standard ground shipping). When opting for a chiller with freight delivery, the freight company will contact you to schedule a delivery appointment so please provide a phone number upon checkout.

Does it come with a warranty?

Yes, all of our cold plunges come with a manufacturers warranty.

Below is a summary of the manufacturer's warranty policy. For full details, please see the owner's manual.

Assembly & Setup

How do I fill the cold plunge tub?

Ensure the drain is closed and all plugs or hoses are secure. Use a garden hose to fill the tub to 2/3–3/4 full, or until the water inlet is submerged if using a chiller. Avoid overfilling to prevent overflow.

How do I connect the chiller to the plunge?

Inflatable tubs use 1" ID fittings and come with custom adapter fittings to connect to the chiller. Use the included quick-connect hoses, make sure gaskets are in place, and apply Teflon tape where needed. Connect “INLET” on the chiller to “OUT” on the tub, and vice versa.

Can I use longer hoses than those provided with the chiller?

Yes, but longer hoses may reduce cooling efficiency and increase condensation. Keep runs as short as possible and manage moisture buildup as needed. Always use insulated hoses if extending the distance.

How should I setup the chiller?

Place the chiller on a flat, level surface with at least 36 inches of clearance behind it for ventilation. If the chiller was tipped during delivery or moved, let it stand upright for 20 minutes before powering on to avoid internal damage. Keep it level with the plunge tub for proper water flow and never install it in enclosed or unventilated spaces.

What are the electrical requirements for the chiller?

The chiller runs on a standard 120V / 15AMP outlet and includes a built-in GFCI reset button. However, the manufacturer still recommends using a GFCI-protected outlet on a dedicated circuit, especially for outdoor or wet-area installations. When in doubt, consult a licensed electrician to ensure safety and code compliance.

Usage & Maintenance

How often should I change the water?

Without a chiller, change the water every 3–5 days. With a chiller and proper treatment, water can last 2–4 weeks. Replace sooner if the water appears cloudy.

How do I drain the tub?

Open the built-in floor valve or unplug the drainage port, depending on your tub’s design. You can also connect a garden hose using an adapter if included. Always drain completely before cleaning or deflating for storage.

How do I clean the cold plunge tub?

Wipe the interior with a soft cloth and PVC-safe cleaner. Avoid abrasive brushes, pads, or chemical solvents that could damage the tub material. Clean inlet/outlet ports gently to prevent buildup.

Can I use chemicals to treat the water?

Yes, you can use chlorine or chlorine-free alternatives like hydrogen peroxide to maintain water quality and increase the length of time between water changes. Always test pH (ideal range: 7.2–7.8) and avoid using bromine, which can damage components. Follow all chemical instructions carefully.

How often should I replace the filter on my chiller?

Filter changes depend on multiple factors, but manufacturer guidelines suggest every 20 plunges (~2-3 weeks of moderate usage) or sooner if the water flow slows down, the filter looks dirty, or the chiller is noisier than usual.

How do I replace the chiller filter?

Turn off the pump and close the inlet/outlet valves on the tub. Use the included wrench to unscrew the filter housing, swap in a new filter, and re-tighten. Be sure the gasket is properly in place before restarting to avoid leaks.
